When I was a kid, I used to pretend being a radio DJ recording music and comedy on 8 Track Tapes. For those too young to remember those, that is a music storage format that was popular before cassettes. LOL The "radio bug" bit me REALLY Hard in college and I eventually graduated with a BA degree in Broadcasting at The University of South Carolina. That's how I became a (Fighting) Gamecock (Rooster). Cock-a-Doodle-Do!
During and after college, I was an FM jock at several AOR (Album-Oriented Rock) and Top 40 radio stations, getting more $ every move. I also did nightclub DJ gigs, weddings, sweet 16 parties, high scool reunions. Luckily for me, many ladies found my voice to be sexy. I just LOVED everything about Radio, especially the female groupies. Oops, I mean the MUSIC! No, it was all the Free Concerts! OK, it was my groupies. ;)
After friends of my better half (Jackie) found out I used to be a DJ at FM rock stations, I was begged to come out of my airwaves retirement and held down 2 4-hour shows every weekend at another web-only radio station. That soon became WAY too time-consuming and I decided to bring back my old Friday Afternoon Drive-Time radio show "The Weekend Kicker". That show is now heard Fridays at 6PM-9PM PST on Radio.Rexx.com!
It's hard to believe, "The Weekend Kicker" (www.weekendkicker.com) is still going after 30+ years! Check out my MySpace page to hear my cutom techno remix "Rooster on Steroids" which got some airplay on several FM Radio Stations. As far as music goes, my tastes are eclectic. I grew up loving the Beatles, cried when Jimi Hendrix died and heard lots of different of music in college. I'll play the Best of the BEST!

My Real Life
Most of my Childhood was spent learning Music, an activity my Mother
and Grandmother both supported and encouraged.
At the age of 5 they arranged for me to study Accordion with
Maestro Milton Mann at his music school.
I also studied Piano with one of the Dominican Sisters of Mission San
Jose, while attending Saint Catherine's Military Academy
in Anaheim. It was there that I met Paul Newman (A Local AM station DJ,
not the actor) and became interested in Radio.
During the early/mid 70's I hung out with "Humble Harve" Miller and
Charlie Tuna at KKDJ-FM in Los Angeles.
Sadly, I didn't get to do anything with my interest until
comming to Internet radio almost two years ago.
I am a long time gamer, and play a wide range of games (both online and
single player or LAN) and a wide range of characters. You can find me
in EverQuest and Second-Life as Jitar.
Although I have never considered myself much of an artist, In the past
year I have begun doing pencil sketches and paintings. (My Mother also
didnt start painting until she was 40) I have placed a few of my
sketches on my MySpace
pictures gallery if anyone is
interested in viewing them.
In case you didnt know it.... Cat DJ's can scratch better than anyone... if you dont believe me just point me at your couch and I'll prove it!

I am another one of those guys that wanted to get into radio as a kid. I grew up in Jacksonville, Florida with great radio all around me.
Luckily, I got my chance at WUSC, the campus radio station at the University of South Carolina. After school
I did Top-40 radio in South Carolina in the late 60's and some AOR in the 70's.
Good radio is more than just music. The right mix is music, personality
and audience participation. Pick the songs you want to hear and IM me with your
requests and dedications. Back in the day, the audience was the backbone of
my terrestial radio shows. Now - thanks to Radio Rexx, I get to do it again.
My shows are multi - genre; you can never tell what you might hear.
Not everything will be a "Hit", there are some real gems out there that never
made the top 40. Here is where you will hear them. Give a listen Saturdays
8 - 10 AM Pacific Time, 11 AM - 1 PM Eastern Time. I am also on Mondays from 5 - 7 PM Pacific Time, 8 - 10 PM Eastern time! IM me a request when I am on

Our special broadcast of Monday Night at the Movies on March 7th was such a hit that we will
add Movie songs into the regular mix on the Monday Night Dream

The AnJ Show
Seems like he got swept into his dream job by technology. It was back in 1998 when ArJohn was just starting to experiment with live streaming and voice chatrooms. He was told that he had a great voice (not the first time) and was so much a ham that if you boiled him with split peas, onions and carrot you’d have great soup. So back in 1998 ArJohn was offered an on air position with the long defunct Chatmasters Cafe. What ever it was he was doing people seemed to like it and he relished the next few years. During this time, ArJohn's brother would join him online. The team was a success. Chatters adopted him almost immediately and when he had spare time he'd pop in.
ArJohn continues, It was early 2001 when I gave it up. I went back a little bit here and there but the computer I had was rapidly being left in the dust. It wasn’t until I moved and landed next to my brother (The Producer/Engineer Techno Wizard – Jimmy B) that the bug bit once again. We wanted to try something, we listened to many Live Streams and Rexx Radio leapt out of the speakers and found a home in our rocked out brains. From this mystical source, the AnJ Show was spawned.
Tired of 10 seconds of talk and a then thirty tune interlude, we decided personality needed to be injected. We are too full of words to be cut off. The best memories of radio we have in Chicagolnad is not who played the newest hit, but who did we have more fun listening to. With a history of Dick Biondi, Art Roberts, Larry Lujack, and Steve Dahl & Garry Meyer, we endeavored to bring life to the spaces between recordings.
We think we have the right blend of music, comedy and chatter to make The AnJ Show a winner. Join us on this roller-coaster ride, partake of the fun. With you on board it becomes a party. Check our website for more info.

Drifted from roadie to DJ in the 60's , exact dates elude my memory now, DJ'd for the Squadron and Brit forces in UK and Malta while in the army, always have been interested in music.
Came back to DJ'ing when i discovered Second Life -- Love requests .
